KEEP PETS SAFE WITH EMERGENCY INFORMATION KIT FROM PAWS/LA

LOS ANGELES, May 17, 2012, It is every pet owner’s worst nightmare. A house fire, tornado, earthquake, flood or other disaster strikes. Your pets are home alone.  Will emergency crews know they’re there? Will they be rescued? When the unthinkable happens, give your pets a chance and yourself peace of mind with the new Pet Emergency Information Kit from PAWS/LA.

The kit features several items with a specially designed, brightly colored and easily recognizable logo, including:

  • Two “Pets Inside” removable window decals to alert emergency personnel to the presence of pets
  • One magnetic dry erase memo board for key emergency contacts or other essential information
  • Two plastic wallet cards to let emergency providers know that pets need care if the owner is incapacitated.

The PAWS/LA Pet Emergency Information Kit was funded in part by a grant from The Petco Foundation and can be obtained online at www.pawsla.org, for a suggested donation of $15 including shipping. Proceeds benefit PAWS/LA.

“Our Pet Emergency Information Kit fulfills a very important need in a pet owner’s life by providing tools for unexpected situations,” said PAWS/LA Executive Director Pamela Magette. “It is important to let others know animals at home might need help in the event of an emergency and this kit makes that easy.”
