Sue Sawyer helmed the national media relations departments at both Virgin Records America and The Walt Disney Company’s Hollywood Records, and was responsible for all aspects of both artist-related and corporate public relations efforts for both labels.
Long stints at Epic Records and PolyGram Records followed her early start in the business, and over the course of her career she’s worked with artists in every genre of popular music.
Sawyer loves a party, and has planned events ranging in scale from big-budget, post-Grammy Awards celebrations to intimate backyard hootenannies, complete with hay bale seating, maracas and tambourines. Among the most memorable?: An outrageous live performance at the L.A.P.D. Police Academy, where L.A.’s finest had no idea who was hosting, attending or performing!
She’s also passionate about food, with interests ranging from fine dining, the endless search for the perfect taco, as well as raising organic heirloom tomatoes in her backyard. Her scope as a publicist has expanded to include representing luxury lifestyle businesses, restaurants, chefs and sports marketing enterprises.
